Figuring out the braid animation, was probably the biggest challenge on this project. I luckily had thread the same color as the video and made some braids. This helped figure out how the string moved and overlapped.

From there I animated the roughs in Rough Animator. I love doing rough frame by frame stuff in that program.

The final animation was done in After Effects - and it was painful. I was animating strokes, but they had to be separated and layered a certain way. I’m sure there was a better way to do this, but the end result turned out pretty good!.
